Score community service hours while having a blast! We have some fantastic opportunities to fit your interests and schedule. These volunteer programs are for teens (14 - 18 years old) only.
KITS
YA Loot Packs (Grades 8 - 12)
Pick up your kits: Sept 16, Oct 14, Nov 10, Dec 17
Turn reading into a gift with our book subscription kits for teens. Sign up each month for three books in the genre of your choice, goodies (candy, buttons, stickers), a craft or activity. Return the books but keep the goodies. Registration required.
Tween Lit Kits (Grades 4 - 7)
Pick up your kits: Sept 24, Oct 22, Nov 19, Dec 9

Pick up Sept 29, Oct 27, Nov 24
Grab a kit, create, submit a photo to compete for a Michael's gift card. Make a needle-felt animal in September, scary soap in October, and a marbled clay creation in November. Registration required.
Teen Break-In Bags (Grades 8 - 12)

An escape room without the room -- just for teens! Solve the themed puzzles to unlock the bag of goodies each month. Keep all the goodies but return the lock and bag!
Tween Fandom Fever (Grades 4 - 7)

Pull your favourite books, tv shows, and movies into the real world! These monthly pick-up kits feature crafts and games related to a different fandom each month. Registration required.
EVENTS
Chess Knight at SPL (All Ages)
Mondays | 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Drop-in and gather on the main floor of the library, where all ages come together to enjoy a chill night of playing chess and drinking tea. BYOBoard if you have one -- if you don't, come anyway. (Youth under 12 must be accompanied by adult.)
Twilight Interactive Party (Ages 9+)
Oct 3 | 6:30 - 9:00 PM
To celebrate Twilight's 20th anniversary, we're hosting an interactive movie screening that will put you in the action -- as we howl like a wolf when Jacob appears on screen and toss popcorn in the air when Edward sparkles. Snacks, drinks, and games provided.
Duck Hunt (All Ages)
Oct 6 - 14 | All Day | Library + Downtown
Seek out the tiny ducks hidden on the main floor of the Library and bring the ones you find to the reference desk for ballots in our prize draw. Bonus: Find secret ducks hidden in five specific downtown businesses for extra ballots and scan the QR code. Three prize categories. Read rules and details.
Zombie Survival Night (Grades 8-12 only)

In teams of five, complete challenges and solve clues while avoiding the ravenous zombies that are chasing you in the dark library. Gift card prizes for the winners -- brains for those who turn into zombies. Free pizza for all. Drop-in.
Boo Bash 2025! (Ages 7+ recommended)

Celebrate creepy season in style with hilarious, fun games, super cool crafts, ghost stories around a glowing "campfire", and ending the evening with the traditional zombie walk Stratford take-over.
Glow In The Dark Karaoke
Nov 4 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM
We're going to sparkle up the library with neon lights, coloured LEDs, and glow sticks, while we sing along to only the best music. Includes popcorn, pop, and sparkling juice.
Wicked Party
Nov 19 | 6:30 - 8:00 PM
To celebrate the release of the new movie, we're taking over the library with games, activities, crafts, and karaoke
Tween Dinosaur Disaster (Grades 4-7)
Nov 28 | 6:30 - 8:00 PM
In teams of five, race through the dark library completing challenges and survival puzzles while dinosaurs chase. Goodie bags for the winning team and snacks for everyone. Drop-in.
