Teen Maker Marketplace Applications

Calling all highschool artists and makers! MAKE MONEY from your creations! RECEIVE valuable volunteer hours! LEARN to start a small business! Interviews from Mar 16 - 20. Chosen applicants notified Mar 23. Includes weekly training sessions Apr 14 - May 19 (6:30 - 7:30 PM). Vendor Show is May 23 (1:00 - 3:30 PM).
March Break Escape (all ages)

Join us each day (and some evenings) for fun for all ages. Including a KPop Demon Hunters Party and Glow-in-the-Dark Karaoke!
Escape Room: Hunger Games (ages 9+)
Apr 8 & 9 | 3:00 - 8:15 PM, Apr 10 | 3:00 - 7:30 PM (30-min slots)
In this 30-minute escape adventure, groups of five will work together, solve clues, and stop the Panem Capitol. Must register!
Teen Maker Marketplace Vendor Show

Support our young makers! Purchase handmade items from some of your favourite local artists and craft vendors.
Painting Paws (grades 8 - 12)
Apr 27 | 6:30 - 7:30 PM | MakerSpace
Turn adoptable animals into painted masterpieces for the Humane Society. Earn volunteer hours (grades 9+) for your efforts -- and we'll provide the canvasses, paint, and photos. You provide the talent. Must register!

Turn reading into a gift with our book subscription kits for teens. Sign up each month for three books in the genre of your choice, goodies (candy, buttons, stickers), a craft or activity. Return the books but keep the goodies. Registration required.
Tween Lit Kits (Grades 4 - 7)
Pick up kits: Feb 18, Mar 25, Apr 22, May 20
Turn reading into a gift with our book subscription kits for tweens. Sign up each month for three awesome tween books, goodies (candy, buttons, stickers), a craft or activity. Return the books but keep the goodies. Registration required.
Tween Break-In Bags (Grades 4-7)
Pick up kits: Mar 5, Apr 9, May 7
Registration now full! Solve the themed puzzles each month to unlock the bag of goodies each month. Keep all the goodies but return the lock and bag!
March Break Create (Grades 8 - 12)
Pick up kits: Mar 16 & 19
Dive into two art projects over March Break. Sign up for Monday's kit and make a pineapple candle. And/or Thursday's kit and make a Galaxy Snow Globe. Registration required.
Chopped @ Home (grades 8 - 12)
Pick up kits: Mar 30, Apr 27, May 25
Each month, pick up your pre-packed basket of ingredients kit and use to make a new twist on that month's theme. Send a pic of your creation so the public can vote on their favourite. Each winner receives a kitchen gadget prize. Registration required.
OTHER EVENTS - ALL AGES
Chess Knight at SPL (All Ages - on-going)
Mondays | 6:30 - 8:30 PM
Drop-in and gather on the main floor of the library, where all ages come together to enjoy a chill night of playing chess and drinking tea. BYOBoard if you have one -- if you don't, come anyway. (Youth under 12 must be accompanied by adult.)
