Buckle up, globetrotters -- this summer we are setting out on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure to faraway places -- without needing to leave your local public library. Allow yourself to be TAKEN AWAY with captivating books and adventures beyond imagination by joining the TD Summer Reading Club. Experience adventures in creativity and wonder with our Maker programs. Ignite creativity in every dreamer with a world of travel, stories and discoveries. Explore a globe of fun and learning. Join us and let your imagination soar this summer at your public library!

Hey kids! Drop by Stratford Public Library to pick up your FREE TD Summer Reading Kit! 

It's packed with fun activities to keep you reading all summer long!

  1. Get a kit by visiting Stratford Public Library beginning June 10.
  2. Read! You can read whatever you like, whenever you like!
  3. Come back to share your reading progress with us – while you’re here check out the fun programs we’re offering!

Pick up your Read Your Way Through Summer game board with your TD Summer Reading Kit (filled with stickers and goodies) and set a goal to read every day. Once you complete your first ten days, come into the library to play SPLinko and win a prize! The more you read, the more fun you'll have! Keep playing until you hit 40 days. (Then pick up another kit if you want to keep going.)

Meet Kamden and Owen, our Summer Program Coordinators!

They are very excited to meet you and have fun all summer reading, exploring, playing, and creating together! Get ready to read, explore, and create together! Children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.

Kamden Gillespie has a BA with Specialization in Sociology from Western University and is currently in Western’s Teacher Education Program.

“I grew up attending TD Summer Reading programs in Wingham — I had so much fun! I’m thrilled to now help bring that joy to families here in Stratford. I can’t wait to meet all of you 🙂” 🎶 

Fun facts: She’s a singer/songwriter, performs live with her brother, and released an album called The Journey! She also loves to read, create art, make music, and hang out with her pets. (We expect she'll brings her singing chops to story time!)

Owen Shantz is a third-year Psychology student at Wilfrid Laurier University.

“At a young age, I attended programs at the library and loved every minute. Now, being able to run these programs is a dream come true. I’m excited to see kids having fun the same way I used to!”

🏈 Fun fact: His favourite sport is football, and he’s a huge Baltimore Ravens fan.

Paws 4 Stories

Monica is setting off on a trip across Canada, fuelling their travels with Canadian books! BE MONICA’S WHEELS: For every Canadian book (or chapter) read this summer, Monica will travel 10 km across the country.
