Join us at the Falstaff Centre for Voices of the World, a fun and heartwarming program for families of all ages!

Each week we explore amazing stories of neighbours and friends through activities such as storytelling, music, dance and art. Through shared experiences, we learn from special guests -- including Indigenous Knowledge Keepers -- and celebrate the beauty of our differences and similarities.

This inclusive, drop-in program invites learners of all ages to listen, move, create and connect in joyful and meaningful ways. We'll also explore topics like neurodiversity in a world that's still learning to understand it, helping build kindness, empathy and awareness in everyone who attends.

Get ready to learn and grow together, celebrating the many voices that make our world so special!

Patsy Day (July 2): To begin Voices of the World, we invite Patsy Day to celebrate indigenous culture. In this week, we be introduced to the language of Oneida, as we learn how to speak simple phrases and words. Get ready to explore, listen, and try speaking a new language as we start our journey through indigenous language.

Louise Liu (July 16): Join us for a special one-hour session led by a Group Fitness Instructor Louise Liu, offering a gentle yet comprehensive introduction to the ancient practice of Tai Chi. You'll learn basic movements, explore its physical and mental benefits, and experience the graceful flow that defines this timeless art. Whether you're a curious beginner or simply looking to unwind, this session is the perfect first step into the world of Tai Chi.

Owen & Neurodiversity (July 23): A heartwarming and hands-on event celebrating neurodiversity through the story Owen’s Rainbow Mind, written by local author and content creator Nadine Schumont. Inspired by her real-life client Owen, this beautifully illustrated book follows a young boy who sees the world differently and learns that his unique way of thinking is actually his superpower.
Nadine will be joined by Karen (Owen’s mom), who will read the story aloud, while Owen and his younger brother Caleb will be there in person to share in the fun. The event will also feature interactive activities for children and families to explore how different minds think, learn, and experience the world, and how understanding these differences can turn confusion into connection.

Celebrating Diversity at Avon Public School (July 30): Join us for a change in location this week -- at Avon Public School. Families are welcome to bring items from their culture or heritage to display and share with others. Gain deeper awareness and understanding of the cultures of neighbours and friends, and be inspired to discover more about their own cultures, too.

Nancy Campbell Academy (Aug 6): Get ready to learn as we welcome the Nancy Campbell Academy to Voices of the World as they teach us about nations and cultures from around the globe. Our guest will perform songs, and lead us through activities to bring us around the world, as we learn and explore what makes every culture special.

The Children’s Voice (Aug 13): Join us for our final week of Voices of the World as we celebrate YOUR voice. This week, participants will engage in activities that will show how impactful your voice can be. Join us as we celebrate your story, and learn from our peers as everyone speaks their unique voice. Together, we can see how much of a difference your voice can make in the world!

No registration required. All ages are welcome!

For all programs, children under age 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
