Why should kids have all the fun? Join STAR (Summer Time Adult Reading Challenge) this summer at your library and read for fun and prizes.
Summer Time Adult Reading Challenge (STAR) is open to all adult patrons of the library (18+).

How does it work?
No registration is required for this reading challenge, simply ask for a STAR card at the main desk. Then, when you visit the library, tell us how many library books you've read (yes, audiobooks count) to get your card stamped.
Once readers get 5 stamps, they can enter the prize draw. Online competitions for using the BiblioCommons catalogue will also take place separately for other prizes.
STAR Online
- Star RatingsLet us know how much you loved (or didn't love) your most recent read. Your recently rated items also show up on SPL’s BiblioCommons homepage.
- CommentsWhether short and sweet or a longer review-style comment, let everyone know what you thought about your latest read. Your recently reviewed items also show up on SPL’s BiblioCommons homepage.
- ListsCreate a book list. Any library user can make a list on BiblioCommons. A list can be on any topic that you are interested in, and needs 4 items minimum in order to be published. Recent Lists show up at the very bottom of SPL's Bibliocommons homepage.
- QuotesFind something memorable in your reading? Add a quote to a book's record in BiblioCommons. If there are excerpts you'd like to share, this is the place to do it! Quotes can be found at the very bottom of an item's record (under Community Contributions).
Every two weeks, contribute to the highlighted Bibliocommons feature to discover new ways to explore our online catalogue. By using features that you might not have tried before, you can build up Community Credits. Mini-prizes will be awarded at the end of each two-week mini-challenge, calculated by total Community Credits.
