Join the Stratford Poppy Project!
Have you heard of the Stratford Poppy Project? It’s a beautiful community art initiative where volunteers crochet poppies to honour our veterans. For the past two years, these stunning poppies have graced the William Hutt Bridge in early November, creating a breathtaking tribute.
This year, Stratford Public Library is proud to support this incredible project by hosting workshops and providing a drop-off location for finished poppies. Over the next few months, we’ll be offering workshops to help you get started on your own crocheted poppy.
Part One
Interested in helping teach others to crochet? Are you looking to earn volunteer hours?
Join us on May 27 from 6:30 - 8:00 PM in the Library Auditorium for an evening of learning the poppy patterns, in order to teach others at the upcoming workshops!
(Can’t make it on May 27 but still want to help? Please register at the above form.)
Part Two
Want to join our team of poppy-making crafters? And potentially earn volunteer hours if you're a teen?
Join us on the following dates to learn crochet skills and create poppies:
- Thursday, June 5 (6:30 - 8:00 PM)
- Saturday, June 7 (1:00 - 4:00 PM)
- Thursday, June 19 (6:30 - 8:00 PM)
This program is designed for adults and teens interested in crocheting (all levels welcome). No registration needed for Part Two.
