Ignite Your Summer: Photo Contest

📸 Our Instagram summer photography contest is back!

Are you a shutterbug with a sharp eye for a perfect pic? Think you can capture the coolest close-up or the most dreamy night sky? Each week this summer, we’re throwing down a new photo challenge just for teens (Grades 8 - 12) — and yes, there are prizes.

🔥Each week teen photographers compete for the best photo in that week's theme. Win a prize pack worth $40. (EVERY photo submitted is a ballot for the end-of-summer grand prize draw -- a $100 Amazon gift card!)

Follow SPL’s teen Instagram @SPL.Ignite to compete in Ignite Your Summer -- and keep your eyes peeled for the new photograph theme announcement each week (like stars, extreme close up, or cityscape). 

Themes announced Monday, starting July 6. A winner will be chosen and announced the following Monday. You can submit every week!

Photographs will be submitted through direct message to @SPL.Ignite or via email to bwindsor@splibrary.ca. The photo chosen (by SPL librarian judges) for each week’s theme will also receive a prize pack worth $40. Players can also score additional end-of-summer grand prize draw ballots for playing games posted to the Instagram feed -- including trivia, riddles, and more!

Rules:

1. Beginning July 6, contest themes and weekly winners will be announced Mondays on the @SPL.Ignite Instagram account. Players will have until Sunday night to submit as many photos as they want. The winner of the weekly prize pack will be announced on the Monday after the Sunday submission close.
2. The end-of-summer grand prize draw will happen on Wednesday, August 26.
3. The odds will favour those who have submitted the most photos and participated in the games posted periodically on the Instagram feed.
4. Only those in Grades 8 - 12 are eligible for the weekly prizes for best photo and the grand prize at the end of the game.
5. All photo submissions must be taken by the person submitting them. Potential winners for the best picture will be put through reverse image search to assure originality.
