Back by popular demand: an old favourite with some new locations!
Exploring Stratford is a free, drop-in community program for all ages that gives participants the chance to discover the people, places and services that make Stratford a vibrant and fascinating city. Each week, the group meets at a different Stratford location to get behind-the-scenes access, meet the professionals who keep the city running, and learn about the vital roles they play in our community. It's a fun and educational way to explore Stratford together, one stop at a time!
Join our Summer Program Coordinators, Emilie and Owen, each week to discover some awesome places together.

Join Owen and Emilie to celebrate the beginning of this summer’s Exploring Stratford program as we visit the water pollution plant, which cleans and filters all the water that goes through the city. Learn how water from your home is filtered, get a tour of the facility, and enjoy crafts and activities. PLEASE NOTE: Participants must wear closed toe shoes.
Back by popular demand, this day is about celebrating our local heroes. We'll be joined by police officers, firefighters, and EMS and our new, special guests from the Public Works department. Explore and admire their different machinery as we show our appreciation to the people who make our city a safe place to live and thrive.
Fly on over and join Owen and Emilie as we learn about aviation and how the local airport operates. Participants will tour the airstrip and more, while SPL provides activities that will help your imagination soar.
Join Emilie and Owen for a chance to explore this amazing, welcoming space that provides access to nutritious food for the Stratford community through community meals, affordable markets and cooking skill programs. Get your green-thumbs ready while we're given a tour of the centre, scout out the greenhouse, plant your own sunflower, and enjoy a locally-grown snack.
Hop aboard our time machine and admire local history and community advancements. Journey through time on a museum scavenger hunt and find answers to all the clues. Then take a stroll through our TD Summer Reading Club's StoryWalk® located along the Heritage Trail and read Jean-Francois Sénéchal’s book Colette: The Solitary Bee.
Hop aboard as we look how our city’s busses operate and run. Join one of two tours -- leaving at 10:10 AM and 10:50 AM -- as we take a bus ride to the Bus Depot and into the bus wash before receiving a tour of the facility that supports the mechanics of busses. SPL will provide activities at the Downie Street Cooper Terminal, to further connect with public transportation across the city.
Join us for our last week of Exploring Stratford as we visit our local gallery and explore their new exhibits. A scavenger hunt takes you through the entire exhibit -- fun for all ages as we appreciate works by local artists.
