Hey book lovers and budding artists! Help us promote reading and library pride in a fun creative way! Using the theme "I Love My Library", design a bookmark that represents what this means to you.
Contest Overview
This contest is for library patrons of any age. Participants will create an original bookmark design for their age category, using the I Love My Library theme. We will accept both digital and hand drawn designs. Feel free to use a variety of colours and materials.
All entries become the property of Stratford Public Library and may be printed, available for sale, and displayed at our library.

Age Categories
- Children: Ages 0 - 8
- Teens: Ages 9 - 17
- Adults: Ages 18+
Entrants must live, work, or attend school in Stratford.
Timeline
- Submissions: OCT 20 - NOV 20
- Public Voting NOV 30 - DEC 6
- Winners Announced: DEC 7
- Bookmarks for Sale: DEC 14
Prizes
The designs with the highest votes in their category will each receive a Michaels gift card.
Winning designs will be professionally printed and made available for sale at the library. Designs will be featured and shared online.
Design Specifications
Submit digital & hand-drawn designs, vertically oriented, any materials or colour variety.
Design using the theme “I Love My Library".
All designs must be 100% authentic and unique – no AI-generated art, copied/licensed characters, or ready-made illustrations (Canva) will be accepted.
Paper Designs: use the Contest Entry Form available at SPL (submit whole page – DO NOT cut out your bookmark).
- Main design inside dotted lines (final bookmark will be cut on dotted line)
- Extend artwork to solid lines (bleed)
Digital Designs:
- Dimensions: 2.5 x 8 inches
- Bleed Dimensions: 0.25 inch bleed
- Export file as a printable PDF
How To Enter
- For paper design submissions, use the Contest Entry Form (available for pick up at SPL). Submit as a whole page. DO NOT cut out your bookmark.
- For digital design submissions, submit your final bookmark with the dimensions of 2.5 x 8 inches (2.75 x 8.25 inches with a 0.25 inch bleed). Export your file as a printable PDF.
- Submit Paper Designs on the Contest Entry Form by NOV 20 to Stratford Public Library.
- Submit Digital Designs by NOV 20 via Email to submissions@splibrary.ca with ‘Bookmark Design Contest’ in the subject line.
- Submissions must include: Name, Phone/Email, Age (ages 0-8 must include parent or guardian contact information).
- Only winners will be contacted.
