Sinking of Edmund Fitzgerald: the Ship, the Storm, the Song

When

The legend of the Edmund Fitzgerald remains the most mysterious of all shipwreck tales heard around the Great Lakes. The story is surpassed in books, film and media only by that of the Titanic. Gordon Lightfoot inspired popular interest in this vessel with his 1976 ballad, "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald."

Join Dr. Steve Ackerman, Emeritus Prof. Atmospheric and Oceanic Science from the University of Wisconsin as he walks us through the tale of the ship, the storm, and the song.
