Location
Stratford Public Library

Ever wonder… what to do with the stuff you no longer want? Join SPL’s sustainability effort to keep unwanted items out of our landfill by swapping it for something you may treasure!

Drop off your clean and lovely but no-longer-wanted garden decor, tools (no power tools please), and small house plants on April 21. Then "shop" for new items on April 22, Earth Day!

Win a prize! Show us your library card or sign up for a new one to be entered into a draw for an SPL tote bag prize pack! You do not need a library card to participate in the swap.

How it works

The DROP | Apr 21: You may drop off gently-used items in the Library Auditorium (top floor) on April 21 between 10-6. When you donate items, you will receive an "early bird" voucher for the swap the following day.

The SWAP | Apr 22: Come pick out new items! You do not need to donate to participate but those who do will be admitted to the "early bird" timeslot from 10-11 AM. General admission is from 11-4.

*Please bring your own bags or boxes to take your new items home in

What to donate

What to Bring: Garden decor, tools (no power tools please), and small house plants. Please bring only treasures and ensure they are clean and in good to excellent condition. House plants must be healthy, pest-free, and in clean, dry pots.

What not to Bring: We cannot accept power tools, things that are unusually heavy (less than 10 lbs. please), or anything that would require a tetanus shot to handle.

We'll be hosting more Drop ‘n Swaps for different items. Watch for more upcoming events.
