Curbside During Emergency Shutdown

Our curbside service will continue during the Provincial Emergency Shutdown.

How Curbside Pickup Works:

Step 1: Place your holds

Use the library catalogue to reserve the item(s) you want to borrow.  To place a hold on an item, click the Place a Hold button. If you need assistance or would like one of the items in our Xpress collection, call us at 519-271-0220.

Step 2: Wait for us to contact you

When your items are ready to be picked up, you will receive an email or telephone notification.

Step 3: Pick up your holds!

  1. Come to the library during library hours.  Come to the back door off the Church Street parking lot.* Be sure to have your library card ready!
  2. Put on your mask or face covering.
  3. Put your library card in the basket and ring the buzzer on the wall.
  4. Step back!
  5. We will check out your items and place them on the table for you.

Step 4: Enjoy your books and movies!

Read, watch and enjoy!  Items can be returned in the outdoor book drop in front of the library building. Items will be isolated for 72 hours before being checked in and removed from your account. At this time, there are no late fees. If you are physically able, please park in front of the library or on St. Andrew Street to help prevent congestion in the parking lot.

Is it safe to borrow library materials?

The safety of our customers and our staff is our highest concern. We are taking precautions to ensure that the items on our shelves and any items returned to us are safe to be handled. All returned items are isolated for the recommended period of 72+ hours before being checked in and loaned to others.

If you are feeling unwell or if any member of your household is sick or in isolation, we ask that you refrain from borrowing library materials.

Can I borrow items from other area Libraries?

Yes! You can borrow materials from our PCIN partner libraries by placing a hold online or calling us.

Our InterLibrary Loan (ILLO) is also available to borrow material in other Ontario libraries.

How do I return my library items?

The library book drop is now open and materials can be returned any time.  Library fines will not be charged on overdue materials until further notice.

Why are items still on my library card?

Returned items are set aside and isolated for a period of 72 hours before they are checked in and removed from your account.

But don't worry! There are no late fees while the library is closed.
